The kids
Halloween
The kids had a good Halloween. We took Vanessa just up our street and then across the other side. She then went home to help Daddy hand out candy. He said she liked to answer the door when trick or treaters came. Madelyn and Nolan had a good time but towards the end Madelyn was tired of walking but Nolan could have went longer. It was a nice night to be out.

New blinds finally!
Reading the title of this post may sound cheezy, but those people that know about our backdoor this was a milestone yesterday. Putting the blinds up in our windows rather than having a redneck bedsheet covering them is something to celebrate. This simple fix has made the doors look very nice, now the last thing to do will be to finally paint them! Stay tuned in another couple years!

Last flag football game
This was the Nolan's last flag football game of the season. Grandma and Grandpa Hansen drove all the way down for it, stayed a little bit afterwards, and headed back home. Thanks grandma and grandpa for doing that - Nolan appreciated that a lot! Nolan had 6 tackles (got the kids flags) and scored a 30 yard touchdown. You can tell from one of the pics that he was pretty happy. He is now getting ready to start Jr. Jazz in January. He's a pretty good little player and his mom and dad are proud of him.
Halloween Dresses
First Snow of the Season
Today we woke up to 4" of snow on the ground. Nolan and Madelyn were so excited to play in the snow. After church they got dressed and went out and played. Vanessa even went out but only for about 5 minutes. She just stood in one spot and didn't move until I said "come here". She didn't know what to think of the snow. She wanted to touch it but when she did it was too cold.

Too Cute!
Flag football
Nolan has been involved in flag football the past couple of weeks having two games a week between here in Clearfield and going to South Weber and Riverdale. The first two games he scored the only touchdowns for his team and the last few games he has been doing really well on defense. He was a little hesitant on grabbing the other kids flags at first, but now he is the first person to ball getting their flags. You can see how much more confident he gets with every game - it is fun to watch.
Swimming Lessons
Nolan and Madelyn are both involved in swimming lessons last week and they wrap it up this week. They have swimming lessons lined out for kids that are off track like Nolan is for the two weeks. It is nice to have a beautiful indoor aquatic center to have the kids go to with great teachers. They have enjoyed it a lot.

The first trim!
This was both a good and sad day as far as cutting the luscious locks of Madelyn. It was sad to see the beautiful curly hair disappear but if you asked her it was good so now a brush can pass through it without bringing her to tears. She certainly looks like a little Missy now but she sure looks cute!

Vanessa is 1!
This has taken a while because the first time I tried downloading the pictures it wouldn't do it. We went camping the weekend of her birthday and had lots of fun. For those of you who don't remember her birthday is July 5th. Nolan and Madelyn were more excited than Vanessa for her birthday! It was cute watching her try to open her presents and she had to stand up while opening the presents. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Hansen for the presents, Grandpa and Grandma Rupp for the money, Uncle Craig, Aunt Erin and Olivia for the card, the Johnson family for the stuffed animal and the Palmer family for the stuffed animal. She loved eating her cake. Nolan and Madelyn kept commenting on how messy she was and I just remined them that they did the same thing on their 1st birthday. It is hard to believe that the year has gone by too fast.

4th of July Camping
We were able to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. We got everything scheduled between our family and another in the ward about a month ago. We got a few campsites reserved up at Deer Creek State Park (10 miles south of Heber City). By the time that we ended up going on Thursday we had an additional 4 families come and we had a total of 32 people up there. It was an unofficial ward campout!!! Besides the heat you couldn't ask for better evening/nightimes up in the mountains!

Vanessa's Mess
Vanessa it at the age where she loves to pull out as much stuff as she can to play. It doesn't bother me that she makes these messes because she is happy and having fun! It is hard to believe that she will be a year on the 5th of July. She growing so fast but I love this stage she is in right now. The kids love to play with her and make her laugh!
